A Crawl Toward Agentic Factories
Laying the groundwork: The MassRobotics AMR Interoperability Standard might seem technical, but it’s an important milestone. For the first time, mobile robots from different vendors can share simple information like location, direction, and status on a factory floor.
Crawl before you run: It’s a small step, but the right one — a crawl toward an agentic model of manufacturing where multiple robotic systems can perceive one another, coordinate, and eventually collaborate.
The connective tissue of autonomy: We see this as part of the early groundwork for multi-agent factory environments. It’s not yet orchestration or autonomy, but it starts building the shared infrastructure that will make those possible.
